Numbers

Does anybody know where I can find numbers for the growth and decline of the Anglican church. What I want to know is how the growth rate in the first world compares to the growth rate in third world countries. Also, (I'm assuming the church in the first world is in decline) does anyone know how long it will be approx. before the anglican church begins to disappear in North America. I know the diocese that I'm in a couple years back was extremely close to joining the Lutheran church.

Well the Episcopal Church (I'm assuming this is what you meant by 'Anglican') is beginning to disappear in North America already, but the real question might be, "Will it disappear altogether?" As the Anglican Communion is the third largest tradition of Christians in the world, it is not likely that it will disappear from North America at all (unless you are a dispensationalist).

The church goes through hard times and good times. Some times are harder than others.

Louie Crew's website has extensive data on graphs and what not under
'Data and Analysis.'

ECUSA-centric, but interesting nonetheless. Most interesting is that from 1993 to 2003, communicants in the ECUSA rose by 18%. I don't think you can count North American Anglicanism out at all.
