Isn't that like... a will?

that's totally different. Like Bob said, that's a will. Every married couple (especially once there are children) should have one... what happens if one of you dies or moreover if both die...

Pre-nups are for folks with big money, and big money they would miss losing in a divorce; so they have never been an issue in my family .

Pre-nups are not sinful in themselves, they are just contracts, and may even be useful in the right circumstances. If your daughter is planning on marrying an obvious jerk (obvious to you, not to her), say a guy who has a history of misleading females for his own benefit, you might find yourself wanting her to arrange a pre-nup. It sends a message to both parties to stick to the traight and narrow during marriage and removes all incentive for one partner to stray or to initiate a divorce at all.

Sadly, half of all Christian marriages end in divorce, with or without pre-nups.

Then again, it could also provide incentive for the one who has more to gain from the pre-nup initiating a divorce so their spouse can't touch the money or whatever else is covered by pre-nups.

I think mostly what some of us have a problem with it is because to us it is saying..."hey if it gets too hard, we can always get a divorce"

i know when i get married, it is for life, there are no divorces, no seperation etc, a pre-nup is saying... 'just in case'....

'just in case' is recognising divorce as an option, which for me it wont be!
