yea, make sure you do that before buying it. Don't want to get something then regret it...

with pics we might be able to indentify it...but more importantly, make sure you play it first.

if the headstock doesn't have any markings, there's no guarantee that the neck will be date stamped. also, i wouldn't be surprised if a pawn shop owner refused to do such a thing on the principle that alot of pawn shop owners don't know jack about guitars. of course, there's a coupel pawn shops around here that specialize in guitar repair and selling.

It didn't work and I don't have the ability to "show picture" since I'm not using Internet Explorer, I'm using Firefox.

looks like its seen some pretty heavy use (or abuse). the body looks like it has been pieced together.

i can't speak as to whether or not its vintage, as far as being worth anything, it appears to be older.

if it sounds good then its up to you, but it looks like it might need some work and that it may be hard and expensive to replace parts

oh and what are the tuners made of, they looked plastic...

ok, it is working correctly now. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/botruckin/my_photos it needs work but i am good with wood, electronics, and other stuff of that sort. it will give me something to do in my free time that doesn't involve refueling my
4-wheeler. lol i am gonna see if i can pick up one of my friend's amps and take it over there because they don't have any decent amps. i did plug it in on one of the cheap walmart amp that somebody pawned and the guitar sounded pretty good but the amp sucked, so...

they're not plastic they are made of some kind of ceramic stuff. i have thought about how much it would cost to replace parts and how hard they would be to find. anybody else have any comments on maybe what kind it is?

crazy enough, i've seen a guitar like this one before...i just wish i could remember something about the one i saw.

just from the pictures, i can tell you that it's likely a 1960s guitar (based on bridge, headstock, pickups and stoptail) and made of a plywood of some kind. i've seen that paint pattern for the pickguard before. see if you can play it first. how much are they asking for it?

yeah man i wasn't trying to discourage you from buying, just offering some thoughts having bought guitars at pawn shops before, if it plays good, and you like it, and are willing to pay the price, knowing what needs done to it, then go for it

That is one sweet looking guitar, but you looked kind of sad in one of the pictures.

looks like any number of student level guitars from the '60s. Research these brands: Kay, Silvertone, Custom Kraft, Airline, Supro, Teisco, EKO...etc.
