those are the only lyrics i could figure out | that's basically it...
the part you left out is, "face to face, not screen to screen"
i think if you listen through the beginning of the song, it's pretty self-explanatory. |

Thanks AXGuitar.
And I think we can figure out the chords, and I'll do my best to figure out the solo.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |

I honed alot of my skills in church until the right people came along to make a band happen.

#156 | | Algebraic! | Some YFB thoughts...
Even though things have slowed down with YFB over the last few months, one of the things I've really enjoyed is doing otureach type events, especially when the organizers are laid back and enjoy the music. This Saturday we will participate in our fourth gig with Eternity Skate Park. Eternity Skate is an outreach program at a "local" church (about 25 miles away from where I live) that has bought and built skate ramps and assembled the needed parts to operate a free skate park. They open the park once a month and have a bunch of kids from the area show up. The group has picked up some local sponsorships which allows them to give away some free decks among other things they give away.
The youth pastor in charge of the event is apparently thinking about expanding the outreach to other venues and operating at different churches (if there's a niche for skaters in one part of town, it should exist in other parts right?) and has been cool enough to tell us about it to see if he'd have our support in doing it. I don't know if any other bands have jumped on this, but I know I really enjoy doing it.
I think there's less pressure because if the kids aren't all gathered around the stage it's not a big deal, because they should be skating, unlike other shows where if everyone's in the back of the room it's a major downer. I think the other thing is just that I feel like we get more genuine positive support from doing outreach events than we do playing the other all-ages venues in the area. We've also done some other outreach events for a group called "Youth Venture" that's headed up by a "local" church, and every single event we've done with them has just been a blast to play, even when we were the headliner for two full on metalcore bands (I think we've played with Thyne Scabbard a half dozen times).
The other thing I think I really enjoy is that these events are used to get the gospel out there. Sometime during the event the youth pastor in charge will make a gospel presentation. So many of the all ages shows just seem like they're filled with negativity...it's just this floating vibe that you try your best to ignore, but it's always there. Sometimes it's heavy and sometimes it's hardly noticeable, but it's there. I just don't feel that vibe with the outreach events.
anyway, if anyone in the SD area is interested, we're playing at Eternity Skate this Saturday. Here's the details:
Eternity Skate
4701 Sweetwater Road
Bonita, California 91902
We are playing at 1230pm and again after the gospel message (probably start the second set around 130) |

so I finally got a response from a local venue that we've played at a few times before. it's not one of my favorite places to play (we have to presale 32 tickets...) but hopefully it'll work out and we can get a good date when lots of kids will show up and support us. |
