Meet "Olivia The Band," Essential Records' new pop/punk band releasing Jan. 18, 2005

Friends,

We would like to introduce you to Essential Records' new pop/punk group, Olivia The Band, releasing its self-titled debut on Jan. 18. 2005. Olivia The Band is a four piece band from Haleiwa, on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The group's members, who share a friendship that spans their lifetime, chose its "Olivia" name in remembrance of the loss of guitarist, Justin Abilla's baby sister. This namesake serves as a reminder of God's provision and the hope of the life hereafter.

These four guys spend their free time on the beach with surfboards in hand, in fact, drummer Christian Perreira was featured on the cover of Riptide surfer magazine, which is just one of the many unique characteristics that set Olivia The Band apart. The group has been playing shows together for more than three years, and continues to minister by reaching out to a younger generation. Musically, Olivia The Band can be best described as pop/punk with comparisons to Relient K, Hawk Nelson and other similar acts. The band recorded their national debut with help from producer Bob Burch, the first radio single, "Shut It Out," releases in November to CHR/Rock formats. In addition to solo dates, Olivia The Band recently appeared on SHOUTfest 2004.

*Take a moment to view this brief video trailer which will serve as its own introduction to Olivia The Band http://www.essentialrecords.com/oliviatheband/.
