cheeting to use a calculator?

Hey ya, I'm working on math, and I was wondering if it's cheeting to use a calculator?

for like.. devision problems..

Like, I'm learning about salerys and budgets, and taxes.. and right now I'm figuring what percentage of a salary I'm using for each thing I have to have money for... and then other problems are starting with the percentage and figuring out how mcuh money that means..

would it be cheeting to use a calculator?

hah, it takes way too long, and my mind gets way to boggled down trying to do the math by head

Generally, if a professor doesn't say "don't use a calculator" then it's ok. There is a benefit of knowing how to do a problem without a calculator, but, again, depending on the subject and the teacher, then calculators are fine. If you really question it, then ask.

You already know how to divide... Using a calculater will not harm you. It will free you up to focus on whatever new you are trying to learn/become familar with.

Get familiar with your calculator now. It is essential to your survival in higher level math.
