| I have some coins in a plastic money bag but have not taken them out lately to 'admire'. There is one so tiny, I call it my treasure - will have to go back and see which country it represents. But, like my pen collection (you'll read in Journal G), they should really be on display.

| well well Every coin tells a story. Some coins show us presidents or other famous historical figures. Some tell us about specific landmarks, historical discoveries, animals, plants or other interesting facts about the place the coin represents.
Coin collecting is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn. The images on foreign coins can teach us about countries around the world. Similarly, the U.S. Mint has developed some great coin collections which can help children discover their own country. However, there are plenty of learning opportunities with the loose change we find in our purses and couch cushions. Just regular pennies, nickels and dimes provide a great chance to learn about the coins we see and use everyday. |

| I collect coins, so does Leighanna. We recently added some very nice coins from Papa's collection. We are going through them now, and found some very interesting and valuable coins. The most interesting pieces are not nearly as valuable. The Third Reich coins from Nazi Germany are especially interesting. |

| Bank Note Collecting I live in Canada and enjoy collecting banknotes. Its really not a popular hobby in North America, yet there are some coin collectors here that save domestic bills, but rarely foreign material. I trade items with European collectors on a website called Colnect.com. But the closest banknote club to me is on the west coast many thousands of kms away. Yet a friend of mine in Prague told be that there are dozens of local clubs he can join. Different cultures I guess. |

| We seem to cross the US - Canadian border so much that my wallet seems to collect up all sorts of coins.
Basically, US coins can usually be accepted in Canada, but not in the reverse. (Having said that, many facilities in the US near the border state that they will accept Canadian currency.)

Not many. I go to flea mkts and coin stores and places like that.
