I gave it a nine. It's alot different from their other stuff. I think the addition (temporary I believe) of john warne from ace troubleshooter on bass had an impact on their sound. They sound more similar to ace's sound now.
I have mixed feelings about the hidden track. I think they should have had one because it would have made the cd more them, but on the other hand they were obviously going for a mature sound, so i don't know.
I miss the humor but am really digging the depth of lyrics.
"Let it all out" and "When I Go Down" are really touching and run in the vain of matt t.'s work with The Earthquakes.
No, it's not really anything new, but they play their genre, which is extremely popular right now and there's alot of bands that play it so of course it's going to be done alot.

Not really. The thread asked for my opinion so I gave it. I found the album to not be worth the $10 it cost to buy it, and therefor it would be in my "trash" pile, or donation pile soon. Besides, I went on to elaborate, if you read beyond my first post:

And yes, I've seen them live about 4 times. My friend even played bass for them at Alive '04 for MakeAWish. They're nothing to get excited about live, IMO. Plus I heard they're kinda jerks off-stage, especially Matt T.

Shutting up now.

Or you could just let him have his own opinion. It was quite called for, if he really thinks it's trash.

I'm not a fan of Relient K, by any means. I used to be, but then I found out what music was. But, for the sake of old times I bought mmhmm. To my suprise, I am loving this cd the more I listen to it.

I can't get high of 75 out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, I still don't think this is the best Cd out there, but it's certainly RK's best. I still think they need to work on originallity, but yeah, at least they have improved over Two left's, BLAH!

all I can say is mmhmm...get it! I love it!

Stand out tracks for me...

~Be My Escape-I love the lyrics and the piano added in
~Let It All Out- I absolutely love the full piano with Dave(or Hoopsey?) on the second verse singing...
~Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet- The screaming is great and I love the end where it transits into the Coldplay type thing straight into Let It All Out...

You need this Album!

Hey actually there IS a hidden track, go to the first track and rewind (this has to be done on a cd player or a boombox i tried it other ways it didnt) theres a quick humming session, "mmhmm, mmhmm" and so on, for about 15 seconds. sorry to ruin their "maturity"

OH and btw i give it an 11. cause i think it deserves it. so there. bye!

I just got it a few days ago. My friend had it backordered for several weeks and got the signed version.
I gave it a 8, it is a really good CD, I'm am not sure yet which one is my favourite, I'll have to listen to it a little bit more.

It rocks!!!

Relient K's cd "mmhmm" is their best cd ever! The songs on it are so awesome, and Matt Thiessen did a great job writing them! If you don't have it yet, then I highly recommend that you get it right this minute! You WILL NOT regret it!

That is actually an unknown person named John Davis. He's got a website, but I can't remember it right now.

Anyway, this is a great album.

yea right

RELIENT K IS AWESOME

Relient K has a special set of songs that they place on every cd. The lyrics they usually put on their songs are hilarious and deep. The music is astounding and the talent shown is amazing.

However, their new cd, mmhmm, is a HUGE disapointment. Every time i listen to the Cd i become very sad because it contains nothing of what 'is' Relient K. It doesn't sound like Relient K. I was hoping to listen to an entertainingly lifting Cd over and over again, boy was I wrong. If i wasn't so lazy id rannk the cd a 4 only because Relient k is so awesome.
