If you know basic chords you can play any song that uses them. Which is most songs.

oh my gosh...im not even going to write mine out....i guess i can play whatever...as long as i know how the song goes, and i have chords.

Probably more. Considering I know the basic structure for punk songs, I can play a lot of punk songs.

most modern(ish) styles of music all have a basic structure, and if you understand the structure, you can play pretty much all of them. which is sad, but....

i think he's talking about how many songs you've memorized exactly, not how many songs you could figure out before you've heard it all the first time.
