| Reminder of promises made The election year with promises, and all parties give them. This is a never ending thing, (promises) with elections. But during time of war, them "promises" can back-fire.
Remember the 1968 elections? (Johnson, and Nixon). Well the rest of the world still remembers especially the Vietamese, this was a war time election.
Standing on the war ship "Enterprise" Johnson said that the war would last, "not many more nights" (1967). Does that sound like today?
After the election, Nixon (the winner) said we would get out having "peace with honor" ,does that sound like today? (they spit on us)
Or "Americans do not like long, inconclusive wars - and and this is going to be a long inconclusive war. Thus we are sure to win in the end." by Pham Van Dong, an aide to Ho Chi Minh.
During the Vietnamese holiday of "Tet" the Communists sent over 67,000 troops to attack more than 100 targets. (you guessed it, it was an election year for us) sound like today?
Please vote.
