How about Kansas?!
OK, well, I know thay weren't a "Christian" band, but--maybe, at some point, they were. Listen to Vinyl Confessions and Somewhere To Elsewhere and parts of Audio-Visions and Drastic Measures and you'll hear some pretty strong Christian lyrics--especially Vinyl Confessions.
Kerry Livgren (guitars and keyboards, song-writing) and John Elefante (vocals, song-writing) both went on to the Christian music industry after Kansas and Dave Hope (bass) went on to the clergy.

Phil Keaggy and Kansas are my "K" picks.
