soft rock

I was trying to find a good indie band. However after searching the threads on this board it has become apparent that in America indie means independant, whereas in Britain it means bands like Coldplay.

So I was wanting to know are there any good Indie bands out there that you guys listen to? I'm wanting sounds like switchfoots, "listen louder" and "only hope". Switchfoot are good, but they do their soft tracks and then contrast them with sounds like "Ammunition". I'm just wanting a really soft, acoustic sound. I saw Ryan Essmaker on indieheaven. This is the kind of sound I'm looking for. But it didn't seem worth paying that much for just 5 tracks [costs $8 to deliver to the uk!].

Any recommendations?

Older Switchfoot has some Travis moments. Other bands that you might be interested in are Cool Hand Luke, Luxury, Bleach, Chasing Furies, Iona, Hokus Pick, The Left, Luna Halo, Newsboys circa Going Public, Skypark, Stabilo/Stabilo Boss, Starflyer 59, or Tree63.

You might have some trouble finding Luxury, Hokus Pick, The Left, and Stabilo Boss, but they're worth it.

I'm glad I could help. I have Wake Up, O Sleeper from them. It's a good'er. I still want to get Fires of Life.
