| People I've talked to say it's the most painful experiance a woman will probably ever go through, more painful then braking both of your legs.. i've also heard that it's the closest to death a person gets without dying..
are these things true?

are these things true? | The most painful experience is possibly true. I, being a guy, wouldn't know how it would stack up to broken limbs and such. But it also depends on several other factors. Some women have a lot less trouble with it than others. The size of the child also comes into play, I'm sure. I've done a lot of work with the pelvic bones in my premed classes and you don't want the coccyx breaking from an abnormal child birth. There's also the question of whether or not you are using pain killers or not.
As for the closest to death, that's absolutely not true. I mean, there are complications that can kill the mother, but under normal circumstances they are no closer to death than a person with a broken leg. At least that's what the medical proffesional teaching my classes says. |

| We're getting ready to go through the experience for the third time. Perhaps Robin and I can chronicle the event for all of you CGR folks. |

| One thing to add to what the husbands have already said is this: I was pro-life before having a child, and now I am super-awesome-mega-big pro-life now. To see your child at 12 weeks in the womb and to know that 1 day ago you could have ended his/her life is astonishing, sickening, appalling, frightening, etc, etc, etc, etc.

| My wife is also pregnant with our third child due begininning of July. This one was a 'with protection' oops. Little stressful because it didn't happen when we wanted it to (our little guy will only be 14 months old when the baby is due), but I know that with God it will all work out.
