Wow guys, thankyou for the response! Sorry, I have no evidence but the witness in my spirit/heart (deep conviction), belief in, love for and relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father. I believe President Bush loves God but thats all i can do, believe. If we don't know President Bush personally, lets believe the best.

If the American constitution was not built upon God's word, wouldn't murder be right, wouldn't stealing be right etc...????? They are wrong, but why??? It all goes back to the TEN commandments! Oh Hallelujah, i'm so glad this is so and i'm glad murder is wrong and is punished, otherwise this world would be in a mess.

In light of what romans 2 teaches about the law being on peoples hearts I actually kind of agree with you on that. However, I wouldn't phrase it that and I would jump to really different conclusions than you.

So you believe that no one except yout God would possibly think stealing was bad? On what do you base this belief? Do you personally believe stealing is bad, or do you only say it's bad because God tels you it is?

Since this thread is long dead.. let's discuss the commandments.

1. Do not have any other gods before Me.

Where is this in the constitution?

2. Do not represent gods by any carved statue or picture of anything in the heaven above, on the earth below, or in the water below the land.

You don't have any statues or pictures of anything in heaven or on Earth that represent God do you?

3. Do not bow down to [such gods] or worship them. I am God your Lord, a God who demands exclusive worship.

That must have been what that "freedom of religion" bit was all about.

Where My enemies are concerned, I keep in mind the sin of the fathers for [their] descendants, to the third and fourth [generation]. But for those who love Me and keep My commandments, I show love for thousands [of generations].

Why, when someone commits a crime, we ptu in jail not just them, but their children and children's-children.

4. Do not take the name of God your Lord in vain. God will not allow the one who takes His name in vain to go unpunished.

Hence the constitutional applciation of capital punishment for blasphemy.

5. Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy. You can work during the six weekdays and do all your tasks. But Saturday is the Sabbath to God your Lord. Do not do anything that constitutes work. [This includes] you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maid, your animal, and the foreigner in your gates.

Why all stores and businesses are closed on Friday-Saturday, and why people are arrested for mowing their lawn on those days.

6. Honor your father and mother. You will then live long on the land that God your Lord is giving you.

Every American likes to live long in the Middle East. That must be why we sent so many people over there recently.

7. Do not commit murder.

Interestingly, this is not in the constitution either.

8. Do not commit adultery.

Nor this

9. Do not steal.

Nor even this; though murder and theft are usually covered in law.

10. Do not testify as a false witness against your neighbor.

Again, part of law (though only in sworn testimony); but not in the constitution.

11. Do not be envious of your neighbor's house.

Go thought police.

12. Do not be envious of your neighbor's wife, his slave, his maid, his ox, his donkey, or anything else that is your neighbor's

Well, I could like his wife if she were a person; but she is, after all, property... and since I've already been staring at his slave...

Murder was wrong under the USSR as well. Christianity was definitely not the basis of their government. It was considered a crime in Nazi Germany as well.

Hi guys, now, one thing i need to say. I will be leaving the cgr community. I feel it is not profitable for me and does not help me achieve what i want to in life.

I pray God would lead us in the truth of His word so that we as Christians can walk in unity.

I'm not a chicken, i just want to follow God's word,

Remember, Satan's number one weapon is Unbelief. Have faith in God's word.
I thought i may be able to help some people as part of this community but have realised this is not the place or God's ordained avenue for me.
