| Best attacks I've seen so far:
(In reply to someone who paid $10 for the CD at WalMart: ) "First of all, you paid to much for it."
"You should eliminate the middle man (you) and just throw it directly into the garbage."
(In reply to somone who couldn't get the CD to play in Windows Media Player: ) "It seems Windows Media Player is programmed with some sense."

| Hater... I love Jesus I don't know why you think that about tmac's new album, but if you don't like it... don't listen to it. As for me, i bought it Oct. 5th and popped it in and got to Atmosphere and had his music really speak to me. I think God has plans for his new album and it's already affected me more than you could know. I like it alot and he is still playing around with different styles as a solo artist. Cut the guy some slack or come up with something better yourself! Toby's my boy and i will support he and dc Talk's ministry anyday!! They've been given this opportunity and i think they deserve not only some credit, but our prayers as well.

| "Hater... I love Jesus"? Are you implying that I don't?
Toby's music may have done things for you in your personal life but that doesn't make the music objectively good. The music is catchy, but nothing great, and the lyrics are just uggghhh. Cheesy. There is so much better music out there.
And I love dc talk myself.

~Jon | I don't think anyone's *music* has changed anyone's life...perhaps the lyrics. I, personally (and that's why it's an opinion), think this album is leaps and bounds above the first one. Not only musically, but for the lyrics and collaborations on it. I like how people will write a band or artist off completely because of one album (or one SONG as the case would be for Jon, for example, since he's only heard that much, if even a couple short clips) without ever bothering to listen to their next effort. Whether or not anyone likes it, Toby is an astounding producer. If you listen to the layers of instrumentation and sampling in this album and know anything at all about recording and production you'll be blown away. I'm not pointing fingers at any one particular person, but there are so many close-minded people around here about music (and religion, for that matter) who seem to think that any music they don't like automatically sucks and no one else should listen to it because they won't like it either. That's just not how it works. Even if someone sounds just like every other (insert genre here) band out there...even if it's a COVER band...people could still appreciate the work that went into making it in the first place, because it's still a LOT of work regardless.
By the way, that's not an attack at Jon at all. I just know that he and a few others only heard a clip or two of the new album in a thread touting it's coming release and instantly wrote it off with more "TobyMac sucks" kinds of comments.

One song? Hardly. For a long time, I considered Toby to be my favorite artist, and Momentum to be my favorite album.
I never expected much from this album, yes. Why should I? Momentum had a bunch of cheesy lyrics and wasn't that great musically. Welcome to Diverse City sounds like the same thing. It might be fun to listen to (hey, even I found that Whoops-i-Daisy or whatever song catchy), but that's not the end-all to what good music is. Quote: |

I realize production can make a song sound either horrible or great, but it doesn't actually make the song any better or worse. Quote: |

I wrote the song's chorus ("Gone") off after hearing it, yes....But this is not just a completely baseless claim "we" are making, here.
