VeggieTales: Holiday Double Feature Releases Tomorrow

Big Idea teaches kids about giving and God's love for us, spreading holiday cheer in VeggieTales: Holiday Double Feature. Two timeless VeggieTales® classics, The Toy That Saved Christmas and The Star of Christmas are together for the first time and available in CBA and general market stores beginning tomorrow on VHS for $14.99 SRP and on DVD for $19.99 SRP.

Originally released in 1996, The Toy That Saved Christmas has sold over 2.5 million units, while The Star of Christmas, released in 2002, has sold over one million units. In addition to a 90-minute run time, including 12 minutes of rarely seen Toy That Saved Christmas animation from the VeggieTales Christmas Spectacular!, the two classic tales in VeggieTales: Holiday Double Feature boast over two hours of bonus features.

Marketing Support

VeggieTales: Holiday Double Feature will be positioned on the VeggieTales Christmas Gift Center and will be supported by a nationwide fourth quarter advertising campaign. Additionally, it is cross-promoted in the packaging of the new VeggieTales: Sumo of the Opera release and in one million copies of its companion VeggieTales Special Edition: Sumo Of The Opera Magazine.

In the spirit of the season, Big Idea is also giving away 200,000 collectible kid's mugs at participating retailers free to consumers with the purchase of VeggieTales: Holiday Double Feature or any other VeggieTales audio or video product! There are three mugs to choose from, VeggieTales: Sumo of the Opera, VeggieTales Merry Christmas 2004 or the VeggieTales characters mugs. To add to the fun, consumers can visit www.bigidea.com and download a free Christmas greeting from Larry the Cucumber, as well as Holiday Double Feature-themed coloring sheets.

The VeggieTales Christmas Gift Center, which ships the end of Oct., will showcase Holiday Double Feature, as well as Sumo of the Opera, How to Draw, Complete Silly Song Collection, VeggieTunes 4 and A Snoodle's Tale:

Sumo of the Opera, released Aug. 28 and 31 in the CBA and general markets respectively, is the critically acclaimed project described as Rocky meets the Mikado and the WWE when the Italian Scallion takes on Apollo Gourd for the World Veggie-Weight title. The project has already scanned more than 81,000 units in the CBA market alone and tops the SoundScan Top Children's Videos chart for the fifth consecutive week.

How to Draw, a CBA exclusive value priced at $9.99, releases Nov. 9 and includes all new animation and live action footage as Larry the Cucumber and the artists from Big Idea join together to teach kids how to draw their favorite Veggie characters.

Complete Silly Song Collection is also available Nov. 9 and features four DVDs in one box set, including Very Silly Songs!, The End of Sillines!?! and The Ultimate Silly Song Countdown. It also introduces the all new Veg-O-Rama Cukebox, which plays 35 songs on a DVD player like a jukebox.

VeggieTunes 4, available Oct. 5, is the next in the platinum-selling audio series and includes sing-able, hum-able, toe tap-able song favorites from The Ballad of Little Joe, An Easter Carol and A Snoodle's Tale.

A Snoodle's Tale, released earlier this year, is a touching story of a small Snoodle-Doo who learns that the pictures others paint of him don't matter because we are wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of our Creator.

VeggieTunes 4 is available through EMI CMG Distribution, www.emicmgdistribution.com. All of the other above products are available through Word Distribution, www.WordDistribution.com.

The Toy That Saved Christmas Synopsis

"You want a toy that's fun! You want a toy that's cute! ... You want Buzz-Saw Louie!"

Mr. Nezzer is back! As the owner of the Nezzer Toy Factory, his TV commercials have convinced all of Dinkletown that "Christmas is when you get stuff!"

With the children of Dinkletown whining and begging for more toys, it's sure to be the worst Christmas ever ... until one brave little Buzz-Saw Louie doll decides to take matters into his own hands! But how can Louie find the true meaning of Christmas when he can barely find his way out of the toy factory? And what if Mr. Nezzer finds him first?

The Toy That Saved Christmas teaches children that "Christmas isn't about getting, it's about giving. And it's especially about a little baby named Jesus, who was the greatest gift of all!"

The Star of Christmas Synopsis

Teach London to love ... with lightbulbs?!? That's exactly what burgeoning playwrights Cavis Appythart (Bob the Tomato) and Millward Phelps (Larry the Cucumber) want to do in Big Idea's VeggieTales adventure, The Star of Christmas. Fresh off their success as advertising copy writers for Durling's Dental Wax, Cavis and Millward set out to teach 19th century London how to love with their big musical production, "The Princess and the Plumber." But when they learn that the local Church will display an ancient relic as part of their own Christmas pageant – on the very same night – their big premiere could be ruined.

The rest of the veggie gang is here, too, including Pa Grape (inventor Seymour Schwenk), Junior Asparagus (young pageant producer Edmund), Madame Blueberry (star actress Effie Pickering), Scooter (Moyer, the church custodian) ... and many more!

The Star of Christmas is a grand musical adventure. The story teaches kids and grown-ups that it's the true story of God's love for us – not spectacle – that shows how we should love one another.
