And yes, I've often felt like tossing everything out and giving up. But then I realize I'd have no way to make money with this stuff, and I really do love playing, regardless of how bad I may or may not suck compared to others.

Here is a video of the band headed by a guy I've known for a long time. Absolutely killer guitar player - one of those blessed few that have the gifts of both technical and creative skill. This video does a pretty good job of showing what he can do.
