Pirates of the Carribean

It has come to my attention that some people (Christians) beleave that The movie Pirates of the Carribean is evil and not ok to as christians to watch it becouse of the curse of heathen gods to make people into skeletins that look like humans exept in moonlight, i beleave that its ok to watch things like that if you watch them in a christian way and do not take them sereusly.

I'd be far more worried about the moral relativism then the "curses."

The Bible has curses in it and immoral behavior. I think we shouldn't read the Bible either.

The difference between Pirates of the C. and the Bible is that Pirates glorifies evil and in the end, evil essentially wins and everyone seems to want to become blood thirsty pirates. Yuck.

It's a movie. People need to stop getting so uptight about it.

I think it has more to do with how sexy Johnny Depp is.

*contented sigh*

They do? Who are these people, and can we stop them from voting or driving?

Ninjas are totally sweet. Especially when they're flipping out and killing people--which is all the time!

How about a Scriptural defense, guys? I believe Aaron Adams has been exploring this issue & has given up several outlets of media in response to what he has found. I'd love to see his opinion.

I'm not saying the movie is bad, but by just dismissing it in a perjorative fashion, you play to some "worldly Christian" stereotypes.

Heya,

I'd be curious as to what the anti-POTC people's arguement is, first. Kinda hard to provide a scriptural counter-arguement without knowing the original.

The movie should be taking with the same light you take ANY fairy tail. if you say it is wrong, so is peter pan. Alot of fairytails are like that, and if you look at it as a FAIRY TAIL, then you don't have a problem. IF however you look at it as possible truth, THEN you may have trouble... but the story is based off of wild tails that alot of salors believed. HAH! I think the men were out to see for way too long
