Jerry thinks the Chinese would have failed to innovate even if they reached America first and would have been easily conquered by the invading Europeans. I disagree, because I think they would have allied with the Indians, rather than slaughter them because they weren't Christians -- when the Europeans came on the other side of the continent, the Chinese and Indians could feasibly say "get the hell off my continent" instead of "have some corn, I'll take your smallpox."
I swear, if I ever get a time machine, that's what I'm going to go back in time and make happen. That way we wouldn't even have to worry about the legimacy of the American Revolution because it probably never would have happened.
