| Laura Alrighty, my name is Laura and I suppose I will start one of these threads, even though I am not quite done with all of the recordings.
My "band" consists of me, Laura. I write, play, and sing all of my music. I am not a wonderful singer... but I love to play guitar and basically, writing and singing have just been a good way for me to express what I'm feeling and I just really enjoy it.
My equipment consists of a Taylor 314, which I am in love with... and may marry, a Fender FM53S FM Series Mandolin, and a Yamaha keyboard.
I record with a BR-532. Its a handy little booger.
Ok, so after boring you all with that information HERE THEY ARE:
the only two I have recorded at the moment... Anywhere
oops... ok, so only one works. MORE TO COME SOON. |

I love what I've heard.

New recordings on the way... I attempted to do a worship song, and as usual, it sounds stupid and does not even begin to grasp what I was trying to say. Oh well, I suppose I'll post it anyways. TOMMOROW, for today I have homework. |

| Ok, first off you have a good voice. My only critique on that would be that it might benefit a little more if you had a little more confidence in it, but who knows.
Music wise, I liked "Sovereign Lord" better. Vocally I liked "Anywhere" better. Here are my only comments that you can take or leave. "Anywhere" seemed to be hard to differentiate the chorus between the verse, progression wise. You throw in one extra chord, which to my ears, is a relief from those other two chords being played so much. Maybe consider changing up the progression on the chorus a little more, or something to differentiante musically the verses and the choruses. As for "Sovereign Lord", I feel it was written better musically in that it changed up more and kept my interest. My advice would be to try and see if you can add a bridge with a different progression to keep my interest near the end. You sorta lose me 2/3 of the way through. A bridge might help. And again, be confident in your voice.
You would definitly benefit from a better quality recording, but I understand not everyone has access to quality recording equipment or people to record them. I can hear a full band backing you some, and it would give you a total Michelle Branch or Jennifer Knapp type sound. Pretty cool stuff. Keep it up. |

I am working now on what you mentioned. |
