I am thinking about buying an electric guitar kit, as in a build it yourself kit, cause that would be fun, and it would make my guitar more origonal, so I was wondering, if any of these kits are good ones, they are fender, cause they come with fender picks, and some of the ones they sell are gibsons (cause they come with gibson picks) these are pretty cheap, (thats what I think,) but they look really sweet when they are done, and painted, but the first one, the $135 one, I wouldn't paint, cause it looks cool just as it is.

Just because they come with Fender or Gibson Picks, does not make it a Fender or Gibson guitar........

If you build your own guitar, I would recommend to pick out all the seperate parts yourself from a site such as warmoth. Pick your own body shape, neck style, etc.

What do you need? So far, I have (I have gotten in my cart, (just to see how much it will all cost))

Body
Neck
Tuners
Knobs
Pickus
Cable Jack
Pickguard

what else do I need? Also, do I need the Tremo Arm? If so, what all do I need to have that, and if I dont need it, I want it, well, first what does it do?

I don't think you need to builld a guitar now. You should just worry one learning first.

I know, but I want to know what I need to make one, I want to see if its cheaper than buying one, (I am going to get the neck/bodie off ebay (if I decide to make a guitar))

Would I need pickguard screws to screw on the pickguard? Or would the pickguard come with screws? And if it dosn;t, couldn't I just use normal screws? (well, small ones of course)

Because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's better.

Wires, a knowledge of building guitars, a lot of time, and someone to help you.

You should really think about this. I mean you keep changing your mind about what you want, like 14 times. You should really research on something and actually go out and play the guitar your thinking of getting. Or at least play some, so if you build a guitar you can guess at what you need for the sound you like. You can't really make your own fender guitar. You can make a guitar using all fender parts, but that'll just be like a frankencaster.

It also won't be cheaper. If you use all fender parts, the cost will be much higher than an already built strat. That's cause on ebay those parts you see for sale, are people that take apart their guitars, and sell each part seperately for a higher price--in order to make money.

Also to put your guitar together, Your going to need to have all the electronics worked out. You'll also have to have tools to put together the guitar. and whatever else you want to get whatever sound you want.

I have a feeling you won't be able to put this guitar together, unless you get like a carvin kit with everything included.

And have you actually played the standard fat strat? Do you know what kind of sound it has? Are you sure you want to go with the H/S/S, instead of S/S/S? Are you sure you want the fender sound? Have you PLAYED/TRIED everything out?

OH YEA. BTW.
The pickups you mentioned aren't H/S/S. So...they won't fit on a fat strat....so...whyd you choose them...if you said you wanted a fat strat sound.

Choose different pups.

Well now, I am just deciding either to get a fender standard fat strat, or to build a guitar, (well, first I am going to see how much it will cost) What tools do I need? What hardware? ect.

Again.

Those pickups won't fit a fat strat.

Do you still know what you're doing?

BTW this thread is way off topic. Start a new one.
