Hey rockerdud, don't get the effects right now. Work on your clean tone before you add all the cool stuff. It will make you a MUCH better guitarist. And when you are ready for the effects, don't go for a multi-effects processor. Those aren't cool. :/ I'd get a new amp, such as a Peavey Classic 30 of Fender Blues Jr., or any tube amp for that matter. If I had waited to get an amp with disortion, I'd actually have a good amp right now and I'd be alot better than I am right now.

But strap locks are a good choice. Very good investment.

I don't know, I've never played one. I'm not a fan of starters packages, but thats because I've been playing for two years. But for starters they are good.

it looks cool. i dont know how well it plays. usually starter pack guitars arent that great. u should look at some pawn shops first.

I did that, it sounds great,

And, I cant tell if it has a pick guard or not, and if it does, how do you takeit off nd change it? Do you have to take off the strings, and unscrew it and thats all?

To take off the strings, just keep unloosening the strings till they come off.

u unscrew everything, lift the pickguard off, toss it in the garbage, put a new pickguard on, screw it on, and ta da! to change the strings, NEVER, i repeat NEVER cut the strings off. this may cause the neck to bend due to the sudden change in tension on it. taht would not be good. like skillet said, just loosen them. just a warning.
