Here's a new song that I finished today. Influenced by the writings of Piper and Augustine. The words for the song are pretty much quotes by Augustine --from Pipers book "the Sovereign Joy"-- that I have reworked a bit
A Passion for You
All my empty dreams suddenly
Lost their charm
And my heart began to throb
With a passion for You
Now I'm like one who is
hungry and thirsty for You
A man out in the desert
Longing for Your fountain of Life
Chorus:
You made us for Yourself
And our hearts find no peace
Till they find rest in You
Under the shadow of Your wings
Remove the bonds of this worlds pleasures
and replace them with a pleasure in You
Longing for Your presence alone
for in Your presence is fullness of Joy
I really like it! I'm sure that if you have music for it then it is great. It seems like it would have great music. Anyway, when you have the chords post them. I also like that you can take some quotes from a person and turn it into a song. I like doing that too. Great song
Thanks. I do have chords for the song but I'm not totally sure what some of them are called I play it in EABEBE, capo at the 4th fret (G#). But I'll figure it out and post them.
In Christ,
Tim
Thanks Kim, although like I said, I used some qoutes from Augustine and rearranged them a bit I guess it's sort of like putting a verse or passage of the bible to music.
In Christ,
Tim
