help me out here (singing high)

Whenever I sing really high (a high G# or A in my case, that's about my limit... or even maybe a bit lower) it's really hard to control my voice from sounding... well.... I don't know
It doesn't crack unless I change to different words... but it just sounds like I'm straining really hard. How can I make it sound smoother (other than falsetto)?

It might not be something that you can change other that with lots of vocal exersizes ect ect. You might just be meant to sing lower. Although if you do a lot of vocal exercises you might be able to train your voice to go higher a lot smoother.

Try usuing your head voice (If your not already doing so). To do this, yawn and sing, essentially. Doing this flips the placement of your vocal chords. Let me know how it works.

You can also make the change smoother by doing breathing exercises and scales that are a little out of your range... the most important way to get past your "spot" is through breath control though!! I have the same problem and have improved a lot by doing tons.. ( at least 30 minutes a day) of breathing exercises..

I will sing and make music with all my soul!
