Reigning AMA Winner SCC...Nominated Again!

Steven Curtis Chapman has been nominated for the 3rd time for an American Music Award! He won last year for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist. He was also a presenter last year.

"It was a great honor to receive the American Music Award last year and I'm very grateful to be nominated again this year, along with my friends Third Day and Mercy Me," Chapman said when he heard the news. "I've never been more excited about being a part of the community of artists that make music inspired by our experience of the grace and love of God and I so appreciate the American Music Awards and Dick Clark for recognizing the importance of Christian Music."

Chapman has been nominated for an American Music Award three times and has presented twice.

The nomination comes a week before Chapman's 14th studio record hits the streets. The anticipated All Things New releases Tuesday, Sept. 21st. Chapman plans to attend the awards show, a well-deserved break during the middle of the fall run of his 75+ city national "All Things New Tour" in support of the new release. Chris Tomlin and Casting Crowns will join Chapman on the road.

The American Music Awards will be presented from LA's Shrine Auditorium on ABC Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 8-11 PM (Eastern and Pacific Time). Jimmy Kimmel is slated to host again this year.

Winners of the annual "American Music Awards" are selected by the public. A national sampling of approximately 20,000, taking into account age, sex, geographical location and ethnic origin, have been sent ballots by the National Family Opinion, Inc. firm under the supervision of Broadcast Research and Consulting, Inc. Names of the nominees on the ballots were compiled from data supplied by the music industry trade publication, Radio & Records, and the Soundscan Inc., management information system. Results of the voting, tabulated by the Ernst & Young LLP accounting firm, are kept secret until envelopes are opened during the presentation ceremonies.

The "American Music Awards" special is a presentation of dick clark productions, inc., with Clark serving as Executive Producer.

heck yeah

That's because he rocks and I think has more Dove awards than any other artist. He's my favorite artist, I'm gonna go see him next month in concert with Casting Crowns and another guy.
