Unhappy I need help.

Im not sure what to do. im a freshmen and october 9th is homecoming. there is this girl' in the group of friends that i hang out with which is comprised of me and 6 girls, that i liked and her friend helped me tell her. she said she just wanted to be friends (and unlike most guys i respect women) so i told her i respect that. i stopped hanging out with them for a while but i dont know why. lauren told me casey thinks i hate her and was shocked. i was to busy kicking myself over the fact i gave that impression that i forgot to tell her i dont hate her. she seems realy depressed now and i dont know what i should say to cheer her up and say i dont hate her cause she's the most special person ive ever known. what should i do? i also noticed she wouldn't go to the dance with anyone and that wasnt going at all. i aske lauren, alex(a girl), and jordan(also a girl) why and lauren put her hands on her hips, smaked me on th side of the head and said "she's waiting for you to ask prince charming".
i about had an aethma attack right there.

What should i say?!

Ask her to the dance! "Just friends" can mean different things to a girl then it can to a guy. She may mean just friends that hang out and do things together, or she may mean just friends that are real close, bordering going out. Talk with her, ask her how she feels.

Tell her that you don't hate her. If this girl is worth your time, she will appreciate, and accept the truth.

Honestly, you are being a normal teenager. There is nothing unusual about your situation. I appreciate that you respect girls, though. That is awesome.

My take on your situation: Just ask her to go with you. Really, just ask. It's not going to hurt you, and it's not going to hurt her. Just ask, this is the only way that you will know for sure exactly what is going on. Ok?

Just say something along the lines of:

"Hey Lauren, I respect that you don't want to be anymore then friends. Would you like to go to homecoming as friends, though?"

Just something like that.

P.S. Move this to advice, modman/woman. Not that I needed to say this.

Honestly, I would say that writing a song would cause you to come off as a complete romantic. So she would either completely shun you, or fall for you. I would say that it wouldn't be good to write her a song, directly.
