| How Would Jesus Vote WHAT DOES JESUS THINK OF THE ELECTION? WOULD HE VOTE?
FOR WHOM? JESUS:
PETER PUT DOWN YOUR SWORD
LOVE YOUR ENEMIES DO GOOD TO THOSE WHO HATE
YOU
BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS (Sermon on the Mount)
TURN THE OTHER CHEEK
IF A MAN SUE THEE FOR THY CLOAK GIVE HIM THY COAT ALSO
THOSE WHO LIVE BY THE SWORD SHALL DIE BY THE SWORD
GOD:
THOU SHALT NOT KILL (not asterisked with exceptions)
REVENGE IS MINE SAITH THE LORD (not ours)
ISAIAH:
TURN THEIR WEAPONS INTO PLOWSHARES
BREAK NOT THE BRUISED REED
THEY SHALL NOT HURT NOR DESTROY IN ALL MY HOLY MOUNTAIN
THEY SHALL STUDY WAR NO MORE PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTIONIST
She saw a partial birth abortionist
on tv..
an American pilot
who had dropped a
daisy cutterbomb on an Afghan
pregnant woman.
a CACI interrogater
who killed the man
in his custody..
when his wife
was told..
she miscarried
How should a Christian combat violence?
In my humble opinion, with prayer, with economic boycott of those who do harm,
by sending pink light clouds of positive thought
to engulf the violent one |

| The words "My kingdom is not of this world" are beginning to come to mind.

| Do you know who Samson is? He killed 200 people with a donkey's jaw bone. Then he killed 1000s more by making the temple fall down on them.

But seriously, this is rediculous.
Those verses you cited, 8john7, refer to personal revenge and conduct, not that of the government. Big difference.

| It depends which Jesus you're talking about. John's Jesus would vote for some hippie candidate. The synoptic Jesuses would probably vote for Bush since they seem to care a lot about fighting demons and evil, although the Q Jesuses might vote for a hippie or for Kerry. |

| It would be incredibly strange if Jesus voted for Alan Keyes. Since Jesus is God and God controls all destiny (and hence, who wins elections), Jesus would be voting for the person who is obviously going to lose the election. Imagine the metaphysical problems this would bring up -- God choosing a person to win an election that he doesn't want to win the election.
In a Calvinist perspective, wouldn't God have to vote for whoever wins the election? |
