| Where Should I Go? Ok...so Liberty is cheaper, but according to some, Gordon is better academically (but is it $9,000 a year better and is it going to make that big of a difference which name is on my degree). Gordon is in New England, which makes the atmosphere a bit more...cold whereas Liberty is in the south, making it more friendly, etc. They're both good schools...Liberty is more conservative than Gordon, and I'm trying to decide whether the rules will annoy me more than the fact of Christians walking around swearing and wearing what I would consider immodest clothing. So yeah, I'm takin a poll... And if you want, post why you chose what you chose. BTW, if it matters, I'll be a psychology major with a Theatre minor...

| I'm going to Liberty now, I just transfered this semester, and it's a great school. The rules seem a little strict at the start (I got busted the first day for not wearing at least a polo shirt {I had a nice shirt, but it wasn't collared}), but considering the kind of stuff I saw at my other school...
But, yeah. You can check out all Liberty's regulations on their web site www.liberty.edu, and I'm sure they would mail you some literature. But overall, I would definitely give Liberty some thumbs up.

I read the whole "Liberty Way" online, and I was laughing at some of the rules jsut because I thought they were worded in a rather amusing way. But I don't think I'll have trouble with rules...I tend to just do what I need to do. And to be honest, the hardest rule for me will be the "no flip flops to class" rule because I wear flip flops ALL the time But oh well. I will survive. Thanks for the advice!

PS- sinc eI decided, can I get a mod to close this...or delete it? I am dumb and don't know how to do that. |

| Awesome! So, are you starting next semester, or what? I love it up here (up, compared to Texas). Most of my prof's are great. BTW, if (when) you take Evangelism (CHMN 101) if you can get Dr. Lovett, he's great. Very interesting and passionate about his teaching. Anyway, I hope you like it.

| What the heck?!?!?!?!
There are things about every college that aren't too pretty. I can tell you that this school is a lot better that even the community college I previously went to.
Are you talking about immorality or strictness?
Because immorality you can find everywhere. As for strictness (dress code, conduct, etc.) you should check out Pensacola Christian college. Way more strict (bordering on legalistic) than Liberty.
But I would seriously like to hear specific complaints.

| Thanks for the input, but as I stated earlier, I've decided to go to Liberty. (Sorry Sanzi) Gordon looked good, but there were some profs that had some funky doctrine (which I knwo you'll find anywhere) and I didn't want to mess with that. The only bad things I've heard abotu Liberty is that it's strict (and like Crafter said, it's not that strict), and that it's not academically strong (an assumption made because their admissions process is not all that competitive, but from what i've heard of current students, it can get pretty tough depending on your prof...which is like every school). So yeah. Please don't start a school debate over this
