If

If scars were a sign of wisdom
King Solomon himself would weep
With envy at the sight of my flesh

If love could be gained by blood,
By knowing it’s touch as well as any lovers’
Aphrodite would beg to serve me

If beauty were acquired
By the crimson covering all the ugliness
Cleopatra would offer me her crown on bended knee

And if strength is granted
Through pain and suffering
Then Hercules has met his match

I like the poem.... as I do all of the other ones you've written. However, I have one question......... and this is meant only as an honest curiousity..... please do not be offended or hurt or anything like that. I don't mean this in any kind of demeaning way or anything like that. Ok.... ready???

Is that all you write about? I'd love to see something you wrote that isn't about that particular subject.

Don't worry, I don't take offense. However, the fact is that I write as my life tends to go. What I write is all very personal for me, it's all been something I've experienced and, unfortunately much of what I've experienced hasn't been incredibly happy (often of my own doing but that doesn't change the fact). I have some poems that are a little more... uplifting I guess you could say but not a whole lot. The most common mood for me to write in is depression or deep thought and introspection. That usually comes out with what you see. And yeah... *smiles* Later...
