I can hear the questions exploding in your brain.
Walking in the shadows, feeling all alone;
Looking for the answers, rolling every stone.
'Tis a run in silence, and laughing nearly came
Though my eyes can't see you, I know we're much the same.

Are you refering to Rugny union Vs Rugby league???

Union is more international- and more physical, but Rugby Leauge is easier to follow. I watched a bit of union and still dont understand all the rules...it looks like most of the time "stacks on the mill" to me!!

I prefer Rugby League over Union personally even though I grew up in Vic, and follow the AFL!! Go REAL footy!!

Good question. To be honest, Robbi, I'm not entirely sure myself!! I have an Auntie who is from VIC and when she comes to stay she talks about aussie rules, so I'm not sure which she is referring to. I have no clue

Which is the one played in the rugby world cup, for example? This is terrible... rugby is really big where I live, I feel embarrassed to be asking these questions

Ah well.

Yeah the rugby world cup has rugby union.

But rugby league is awesome (prob the best) go manly.

AFL is the third best, and go the Swans.

Ah, so the world cup is rugby union??
'Aussie Rules' is AFL.

Best game in the world.

Idea of the game is to kick goals. Goals worth 6 points a miss is worth 1.

Do yourself a favour and check it out....

Is that a Brisbane Lions top I see on your Avatar?
Ha Ha...didnt make it 4 in a row.....I really didnt want either to win, Im a Victorian at heart and dont like seeing interstate teams in Grand finals, dont think its as exciting as seeing Victorians teams in it. Anyway, being a Richmond supporter all my life, I cant say much for our team either.

hopefully the Swans year next year.

The Victorians wont like me for this but......

I've always thought AFL, while still being good, is the lesser of the three codes.

Oh man... I so love footy more than cricket! I was nearly disowned from my family when I came home from college one holidays and insisted on watching footy all weekend. They couldn't believe it. You really can't say much for South Austalian teams. Crows are playing badly almost all of the time and Port just won the grand final, but they wear teal. Ackland and I used to ride the school bus together when he was in high school and I was air-head twelve year old thinking he was just awesome! This was before he'd even done anything!

I would almost resort to cheering on Victorian teams, but I can't bring myself to commit such sin.

i have really enjoyed watching the news reports from ireland of the games between aussie and ireland, of aussle rules/gaelic football.
the most impressive news item was the one about the inter team fight before the game had even started!!!!

If you look at crowd sizes AFL would be the biggest. Some Rugby League games get a crowd of less than 20 000! I think Superleague killed Rugby league for a lot of people. Although State of Origin Rugby League is the best competition of them all!!

I've been practicing up my kiwi accent in preparation for my move there in February. I still suck. I don't think I'll convert. I think I'll always be yelled at cos I can't pronounce words right. Arg. Is there any grace?
