What do you guys think of the new SAT?

I hadn't heard they were changing it until a few days ago when i read an article in the paper. I personally think it's a bad idea. I thought the SAT was a much better test than the ACT. Like the article says, the old SAT looks more at reasoning ability where the ACT was a little more stored-knowledge oriented.

Yeah, writing can be a good way to test reasoning and logic abilities, but a LOT of it is still learned skills more so than an overall measure of how smart a person is.

i am actually pretty excited about it. it's aimed more at my strengths, with the extra english and harder math. im gonna take the old one this year, and the new one. with some luck, i'll get a good score and go to college and graduate and get a job and get married and have kids then become a grandma and die. wow.

I took the PSAT last year and I really didn't like it. If the SAT is anything like the PSAT, I'm very scared.

And they're going to add an essay to the new SAT, right? Writing's my worst subject. I'm getting stressed just thinking about it.
