BMG Music Service Supports World Vision Fund With Sale Of In The Name Of Love...

BMG Music Service's Christian Music Club Sound & Spirit announced its plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa to World Vision to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa. The Club is making the CD available through catalogs and via the bmgmusic.com website to over 480,000 members in the Christian pop listening preference of the Sound & Spirit music club.

In conjunction with Sparrow Records, Sound & Spirit will prominently feature In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa to its members to help raise awareness for the cause. In The Name Of Love: Artists United for Africa, which was released in January, unites 13 of today's most innovative and popular Christian artists, bringing fresh interpretation to hits previously made popular by U2. Featuring artists such as Audio Adrenaline, Delirious?, Jars Of Clay, Nichole Nordeman, Pillar, Sanctus Real, Toby Mac and others, the album has been lauded by USA Today, Fox News and MSNBC, among others. The album's No. 1 hit single "Beautiful Day," recorded by Sanctus Real, recently spent five weeks at No. 1 on R&R's Christian Rock chart.

"We are very proud to help play a part in raising awareness for World Vision's HIV/AIDS fund and to support Sparrow Records' commitment to fighting this disease in Africa," said Amy Dillbeck, Senior Manager, Music Merchandising for BMG Music Service. "Not only are we offering our members a great CD at a great price, but we are also connecting our members in a very personal way to an important global issue."

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa will be donated quarterly by Sound & Spirit directly to World Vision to fight HIV/AIDS in the Mwakankomba village for as long as the CD is offered in the Club.

"Sparrow is very excited that Sound & Spirit will promote this album and continue to raise awareness for this worthy cause," said David Caldwell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EMI CMG Label Group. "Sparrow has raised in excess of $75,000 and with additional monies from sales through Sound & Spirit, we will be assured of fulfilling the five-year commitment we made to the adults and children of the Mwakankomba village in Zambia.

Here's what I want to know, though....Are any of the covers any good? I'm morally forced to confirm that it's a good CD before I buy anything that has Grits and Jadyn Maria performing the same song.
