Question

Hey all........... even people who don't play piano or keyboards can answer this one. What's your favorite CCM song that is piano/keyboard based/driven?????

I actually have two......... Red Letters by DC Talk and Thief by Third Day............. the best part is, I can actually play most of both of them. Look forward to hearing y'alls replys!

yes! Red Letters rocks!!!

but my favourite little piano bit is probably the really neat bit that features on 'Faith' in For This Cause - it's just a small bit, but it's totally skill! (yeh, i know u guys probably have no idea what i'm talking about but anyway)

Unhappy Hmmmmm.......

Well Kim, I downloaded Faith from Napster to hear what you were talking about. It's by Hillsongs, right??? On the album "For This Cause"??? Says something about moving mountains and doing all things through Christ???

The only piano part I heard in that song was around 1:30 (minutes:seconds) and it was just a few notes. It didn't sound that great to me...... I don't know if I'm hearing what you're hearing. Did you hear the song live maybe??? I'm kinda confused here....... can you explain????

Talking Red Letters Sheet Music.......

YES!! This is one of the few CCM songs that you can actually find sheet music to...... it is in the WOW 2001 songbook. The piano part they have written out for it is actually correct, and matches the recording very well. That's how I learned to play that one...... hope this helps.

Talking

James....... That's some talent to be able to write out a song like that, I had real trouble trying to play that one by ear (which I can do most of the time) It's alot of weird chords........... I don't know what's up with the book, I can't find it anywhere online either. But I KNOW it exists! Our lead singer has it.... and brought it to practice last week. I have no clue as to where to get it.... maybe it's just really new. I guess I'll have to ask her where she got it.

I'm kinda surprised that nobody else mentioned Thief........ alot of people said they like Red Letters, and although I love playing that one.... I still like Thief more. It's a really awesome song, by a really awesome band, with a good message, great music, etc, etc, etc. Anybody else heard it???

Hey, you're not alone, i like Thief too.
And for "Red Letters", just look in the archives here to get the basic chords, an experienced piano player can work it out from there.
