Why are we here?

hey!

so i was wondering about this question...if God knew that Adam and Eve would sin, since He knows all, why did He put us there in the first place?

Romans 11:36. For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Isaiah 63:14. As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

Redemption, and therefore His glory.

Romans 8:18-23
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

Ephesians 3:8-12
8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things,
10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord,
12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

Proverbs 16:4 "The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom."

That is why we were made.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all."

I have seen "for His glory" before. I don't understand it. Is this something that will be in the future?

I don't understand your question. "Glory" doesn't describe an event. We are constantly displaying His glory. His glory is shown through redemption, His love, His wraith, His justice......Its not that glory is some coming event.

To have free will, and worship,or not.More importantly to see what HE wants,check-out. Ho. 6.6 (KJV) "For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice;and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."(mercey=lovingkindness, strongs#2617)

Thumbs up Great!

Excellent responses here. There's one more point that I think should be made explicitly. God's glory is also shown in His treatment of the reprobate.
Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honored use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory--even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

yes and no. we are here now for the glory of God: to magnify his greatness. We will be in the future for the same reason. God created mankind so that his glory might be magnified.

I think we are also here simply to have a relationship with Him.

Why are others here that don't have a relationship with Him?

Why are we to have a relationship with Him? What does that do for God? What does that do for us?

Just because there are others here that don't have a relationship with Him doesn't mean that they can't.

I think we're supposed to have a relationship with Him because He wants us to. I don't know what it does for God, but I think salvation would be hollow without a relationship involved.

Sans Christians, he created us so he could take delight in torturing us on earth (see most of Deuteronomy), and then throw us into hell where we will be tortured for all eternity. Glory to Yahweh the just and moral ... NOT.
