I'm going to give you a warning here, Qingu. I don't care if you spout off your atheistic viewpoints on life, the universe and general - but I do care that you bring something to the table in these conversations other than "God's a meanie", or other stuff that really doesn't contribute to the discussion.

Care to discuss how he didn't create most of us for eternal torture?

Well, since I'm an Arminian, that would be a boring discussion.

If I told you that you were a million years old in the first earth age, and agreed to follow Satan, (because he lied to God's children, you being one of them) then in the secound earth age, (now) you are flesh, you are given another chance to follow God, and you refuse? How could you do anything in the third earth age, (the one to come) you'll be judged and gone! SO tell me why, should I say anything. (I love the Lord & I'll not put pearls before pigs)(Unless you want to change) Think about it. sgary

...that doesn't really resolve the issue unless you're actually suggesting that God isn't sovereign.

I am thinking about it. I don't understand what the hell you are talking about. Are you a mormon or something? And what does this have to do with anything?

Qingu,

I must ask on behalf of all of us here that you refrain from making such comments in the future. The Theology is a forum to debate theology. It is not a place to make ad hominem attacks and cute one liners attacking others point of view. I would ask that you respect this forum for what it is and, instead of commenting as above, make cogent arguments for your position.

Thank you.

Sure, God is sovereign.

But I don't believe that He created people specifically so he can torture them in hell.

Therefore, in my belief, his sovereignty and his other characteristics, including his nature (God is love) are in harmony, not in conflict.

I don't see how that divorces our sovereign God from the consequences of His creation if He knew that a vast majority of His creatures would end up in Hell.
