| Jam/Funk/Jazz? Try anything from the Fusion vein of Jazz - Miles Davis' seventies works such as (Female Dog Curse Word which is edited out on CGR)'s Brew, Return to Forever's Romantic Warrior, Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy, Weather Report's Heavy Weather, Mysterious Traveller, and some of Herbie Hancock's albums like Head Hunters, Thrust, and Mwandishi. |

| I'll echo some of the bands people have mentioned above. Check out Soulive, MMW (for sure), Galactic, Addison Groove Project, maybe some Phish and Moe., and perhaps maybe even some Flecktones?

| I highly recommend Flecktones, and if you're confused by the drums. Check out the Synth Axe Drumitar.

| This is an old thread, but since people have posted in it today:
I'd reccomend the following albums
For fusion type stuff:
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way (a much better starter than *****es Brew)
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire
Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
Some instrumental jazz classics:
John Coltrane - Giant Steps
Roland Kirk - The Inflated Tear
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
Freddie Hubbard - Straight Life
Dave Brubeck - Time Out
That should do for now, I'll edit this post if I have forgotten anything major |
