Please recommend an electric guitar.

I'm getting ready to buy an electric guitar, and would like some recommendations.

Here's what I want on it:

A tremolo
At least two pickups
A solid body
NOT a reverse headstock
NOT an LP or SG knock off
priced between $150 and $300.

Thanks to all.

Used MIM Strat.

Wow, yeah. That Strat Brad recommended would be a great guitar, and the list of $500 should go down to about $350, I would think.

*Edit* Wow, I'm good....http://www.music123.com/Fender-Stand...r-i33213.music

Check out Dean guitars under "2004 Electrics" anything above that is too expensive ... Dean did the opposite of what a lot of companies do and started at the top making the best ( and most expensive ) guitars they could it was only after that they started making lower budget models which are great axes and great value imo. You may have trouble finding a dealer, Dean only supports smaller stores you won't find Deans at big chain stores.

OLP guitars are good beginner guitars with all the specs you looking for. Same with BC Rich bronze series.

Yeah. I hate the looks of an LP, SG, and a strat is an alright, but overrated look.

Yeah, why would anyone want to buy guitars with the two most successful body styles in the history of electric guitars? Really, those styles have endured for good reasons. LP's with tremolo arms are harder to find, so I agree with others and suggest you get a used Fender Standard (MIM) Strat.

So.. from what you've said, I can only say go buy a jackson, as you dont seem to want to have a guitar that looks like a guitar O.O;
Or a Gibson V.

Geeze. From that perspective, you'd probably think a Gretsch were a LP knockoff even if it were a 6120
