You should look at the Epiphone Les Pauls. Those are great guitars that are in your price range.

If that isnt a totally custom job, then its probably a PRS :P Either way, that baby would be upwards of 2 thousand easily I'd think.

Dont leave out other brands too The epis are a good bang for their buck, but so are Ibanezes, and if you look around you can get a Gretsch for that price as well *Shameless Plug*. Someone's bound to put up that you should look for a used guitar, too, sooner or later, and thats a great idea as well, as in your price range you aught to find some good stuff. It really depends on what you're looking to do with it. What sort of songs/styles will you be looking to play?

heh, very soon someone will post "Get a MIM Strat". My vote though, would be schecter. Don't be stupid like me though, and spend more on the guitar than the amp. Try and find a nice amp in your price range too.

oh, and the guitar in his sig, is a PRS Dragon, and goes for upwards of $30,000 I believe. Can't remember exactly though.

Ive always liked the looks of schecters.. I'd go for the one with the Piezo built in if it were me (Im not sure if this fits your price range, though), but then again I've never played one.. But if its god of wonders type stuff I'd have to ask what version I've heard a seriously rocking version of that song, but if you mean normal sort of P&W songs, that aught to be good.

(I should say I have heard schecters, and they sound good, but ive never played one myself. :P )

Agile guitars, sold by www.Rondomusicbigstep.com
offer very good quality for the money.
Unless you are experienced, you should probably get a friend who plays and have him go to a shop with you and give you some ideas about what would suit you. Mail-order can be good, but you should know what you want and be able to be sure it's right.

get a dean, Dean Zelinksy is back with them and the guitars are awesome again ... you can get one in the same proce range as an epiphone lp but they are better built, better sounding guitars then the epi's ( I have an epiphone lp trust me the dean is far better value ) I think they look cooler too ... I still love a good les paul but these deans are killer.

You may have trouble finding a dealer ... they support smaller stores don't expect to find a dean at a big corporate superstore.

hmmm it's an important decision and how about we just continue to fill you head with ideas? For $750 you can get many good guitars. I actually would recommend looking at some of epiphones ES137 look alikes. For the type of music your wanting to play those guitars fit you like a glove and sound beautiful!
