Now, what the heck does that mean?
Example: after playing it for awhile, you might find that the sound leaves a lot to be desired. No problem! Just take out the pickup and put in a brand-new one of better quality.

Yes, hotrodding will cost some more $$ on top of the cost of the guitar, because you'll be buying new parts. But by getting the (Fender) MIM Strat, you can easily change its components to suit your needs, and you won't have to go out and buy a whole new guitar in order to do so. This is probably the real reason why nearly everyone here in guitar advocates them so heavily time and again, besides the fact that it's a decent guitar for the money.
That, and more. They have good resale value, they're available everywhere, most aftermarket parts are spec'd to them, they are easy to repair, they are very sturdy, they sound great even stock, they fit all types of musical styles, they are pretty inexpensive and are great quality, and more.

I have told my dad (the one with the paypal account/credit card) that I want this guitar:

http://www.soundexchange2.com/index....ROD&ProdID=659

and this amp:

http://www.guitarstop.com/Fender/frt15G.htm

(dont say anything about the amp, its a good amp some1 at my church (in worshiip team) has it and it sounds great!)
Soo, hopefully, he will buy it for me, and I will just pay him back. I will post a picture of my AMP and/or Guitar once I get them/it. (If I get them/it soon)

That must be just about the billionth Squier Strat and Fender Frontman combo Fender has ever sold... I even bought that combo when I was first getting into electric guitars. In 6 months I was dying for an upgrade. I'm not saying that'll happen to you, but it's my experience... That guitar will probably last you longer then my guitar did anyways.

And about the amp, I own it, and have three other friends that own that exact same amp. It's OK as a beginners practice amp, but eventually you will start to hear how much the tone needs improvement, plus it doesn't work that well with humbucker guitars, at least on the clean channel. The distortion channel will sound good for a while, but soon you'll realize that it turns everything into fuzzy mush. Again, my personal experience with that amplifier and nothing more.

Do you mean you actually haven't bought it yet?

In that case I would also have to tell you that guitar isn't a Fender. It's a Squier, a cheaper asian made product that isn't on-par with Fender guitars. It's a step down from an MIM Strat, which you could have easily attained for only a few more dollars.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about some of the Squiers, a couple I have looked at were really nice. A lot of people will assume that guitars made in asia are "cheap" because their price is low, without having actually assessed one for themselves. The quality of some of that stuff is great - I was just at GC yesterday and looked at a few Indonesian made gits - very nice. That one looks to be a good 'un - solid alder body, etc.

Okay, I am getting this stuff instead:

http://www.guitartrader.com/itempg.i...=7&numitems=38

http://www.guitarstop.com/Fender/frt15G.htm

And the cord I use to hook them both up, is unknown at this moment.
