| Bach was simply the best that there ever was and ever will be. I mean, he's the "colossial syllable" for crying out loud!
Mozart was a creative genius, no doubt. We're singing his Solemn Vespers tomorrow night and I am constantly amazed at how many motives he can have in a single movement.
But as far as "favorite" goes (if it was indeed possible to choose), I would have to say Beethoven. Such passion. Such emotion. Not to mention all of his music is so loud and heavy; I mean, the guy was deaf, he banged on the piano so he could feel the vibrations. |

| For me it's a tie between Dvorak, Mozart and Schubert.

| I voted for Dvorak, though Beethoven and Tchaikovsky are up there.
By the way, I don't think its fair to have John Williams in this poll. I realize it was kind of a joke but there are many very very talented film composers who may or may not have composed classical pieces as well. Go back to the 50s with Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Miklos Rozsa. Both did classical and film works and were talented at both. |
