It just came in handy, actually, 'cause Nix was able to see that I was online and alert me to a problem that needed immediate attention.

| That is the very thing that brought to my attention that you didn't use invisible mode. If this were my message board I would disable invisible mode. I guess that is why I am not the owner of this board...
And no, us poor little loser mods can't see invisible people. Though I got really good at telling where invisible people were before Mickey took the Who's viewing feature off. Because it still shows the number of registered users in that forum/thread. So I would go that person's last post, and see if they were still there. And if there was an invisible person, PRESTO! I had wasted a whole 30 seconds of my day finding someone for no reason.
I digress... |

| Invisible mode? I didn't know!! I agree, we need to see which admins are on, I looked at the "who's online" section... and found KBF lurking. I thought Rach and Luke were away!

| Poor Brent is getting swept under the rug in this Luke-Travis-Rach bashing thread. Brent doesn't use invisible mode either. Poor man. |

So really, "What is the air speed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?"
It's quite simple:
Drag on a body in a fluid is:
D = 1/2 (Cd*pi*r^2*rho*Vo^2) Cd = coefficient of drag of the swallow pi = 3.1415... r = radius of bird cross-section (approximating as a circle) rho = viscosity of air Vo = velocity For steady state flight, D (drag) = T (thrust), so:
------------------------------
| Vo = sqrt(T/Cd*pi*r^2*rho) |
------------------------------ |

| Nate-
What is your first memory of me?
I remember venturing into the worship leader's forum one (1) time, and seeing you there, and seeing that you had like 6000 posts, and thinking "holy crap, this guy has a lot of posts and I've never seen him before". And you were obsessed with Downhere.

| Wow. Nearly four months since my last blog entry. I'm such a slacker/loser.
Anyway. Yesterday marked me and Catherine's two year "dating anniversary". It's really hard to believe that we've been going out for that long; yet, at the same time, it's sort of hard to remember what life was like before we were going out.
Okay, enough mushy stuff.
This week was VBS at my church. We've had about 40 or 50 different kids come through the doors so far this week, which is really good considering our church only has about 100 members. I am leading the music for VBS, which is tons of fun. It's also a bit aggravating at times 'cause I have to sing the same songs over and over and over again. I think I've sung the line "The far out, far east Rickshaw Rally, racing to the Son!" at least 200 times this week, seriously. Haha. Craziness.
I am growing increasingly interested in Christian folk music as of late. I have really liked Caedmon's Call for quite awhile now, especially their older stuff. I love what Derek Webb is doing as well. I recently purchased an album of Pierce Pettis' upon a recommendation from Aaron Adams and Benj; I am digging that as well. Unfortunately, I don't know as many lesser-known artists as I would like to. So, if anyone has some suggestions for some really good Christian folk artists, I'm all ears. I'm also always interested in hearing about more well-known artists that aren't quite as folky, but still have that general vibe; artists such as Jars and Downhere. So.... suggest away!
As of this past May, I am officially half-way through my undergraduate coursework at Loyola University New Orleans. The way things are shaping up, it looks as though I'm going to have to take about 19 hours each of my last four semesters; the good news is I will actually be able to finish in four semesters by so doing! I will graduate in Summer of 2006 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Business and a minor in Economics, and I will probably go on to complete an MBA at Loyola after I get my undergraduate degree.
My girlfriend, Catherine, has switched schools once again, but finally to a school where she feels comfortable and confident. She is attending Leavell College which is the undergraduate school at our local Baptist seminary (New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary). I am very excited for her because I know that she is enjoying her classes a lot more now.
One of our cats recently had a litter of kittens. There were originally five, but one died a few days ago. The other four are now exactly a month old, and are starting to litter train and to be weaned. They are all so cute, and I'm not sure how many of them we will be keeping. Two are white with brown spots, one is white with black spots, and one is all light brown with white streaks. I want to keep the brown one, and spoil it with lots of fun kitty toys and treats.
My church's pastor, who is a chaplain in the U.S. Navy, was deployed to Afghanistan in April, to serve six months with a Marine unit stationed there. He is doing well, and quite a few of the troops are regularly attending the weekly services that he leads.
I guess that's about all I have for now. That pretty much sums up the major events in my life over the span of the last four months.
PM me if this blog starts slacking so much again. Yell at me or something. I need to update this thing more often.
In His love,
Nate

So, if anyone has some suggestions for some really good Christian folk artists, I'm all ears. | Myron (R2) reccomended and sent a few tracks to me that I really like by a guy known as Sufjan Stevens. He's got some folkishness to it.. I dunno if it's up your alley or not, but I think you'd find it interesting. He's not a professed Christian from what little I know of him, but a lot of his lyrics seem to point that way (and not in the mushy, CCM-ish sense). Anyways, Sujfan Stevens - Greetings From Michigan: The Great Lakes State might be something you want to pick up sometime
