| Thanks, everybody.
I had a great birthday yesterday.
My mom and brothers got me lots of coffee and coffee creamer (it's chocolate, yummy).. a t-shirt... a book by John Piper... and a little clip thingy to hold my piano music open when I practice/play. Also, my mom gave me $50. Yay! Money!
I ate lunch at home... it was yummy. Lasagna. Mmmmm.
All day, my brother (bobthecockroach) was getting random people to call me and wish me a happy birthday. I got phone calls from our friends Kati (CGR SN: Kati), Kate (CGR SN: Shakespeare), and Jason's (Insane Drummer's) friend April from AWANA camp (CGR SN: marvinranch). Then, around 3:30 (right as I was getting ready to leave), Luke called!! That was so cool!
Around 4:00, I went to Catherine's house. She cooked hamburgers and french fries for me (and also baked a cake and lots of cookies). She got me lots of stuff too... including a lava lamp and a really really comfortable pair of pajama-ish pants ("loungewear", I think the tag said).
We went and rented a movie... Bad Company with Chris Rice and Anthony Hopkins. It was pretty good. Then, we played some pedro with her parents and her brother. That was fun. I won two out of three games... I think.
Today, I'm going to be going out to eat with my dad. He's coming around 6:00.
Well, that's my update... gotta go.
In His love,
Nate

| Thanks, PianoMan and Tracy... even if y'all were a little late.
Anyway, not much going on right now. My journal is boring, just like my life. Yep.
Tomorrow we will start chopping up stuff for our jambalaya dinner at church Wednesday night. We'll also boil the chickens so that we can get the stock into the fridge, we want to let it have time for the fat to settle at the top.. then we can skim it all off.
Then, on Wednesday, we'll be cooking jambalaya all day... yeah. We're supposed to be making enough for 80 or so people.
Hmm... I don't think anything else is going on right now. Ask me some questions or something.
In His love,
Nate

So really, "What is the air speed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?"
It's quite simple:
Drag on a body in a fluid is:
D = 1/2 (Cd*pi*r^2*rho*Vo^2) Cd = coefficient of drag of the swallow pi = 3.1415... r = radius of bird cross-section (approximating as a circle) rho = viscosity of air Vo = velocity For steady state flight, D (drag) = T (thrust), so:
------------------------------
| Vo = sqrt(T/Cd*pi*r^2*rho) |
------------------------------ |

| Hey, what's up, Nate?
I decided I'd stop by your journal, as I just randomly found it while going through a deep tangle of forums.
I know a fact about you that you probably didn't know I knew: you have a 4 channel Behringer mixer that you run to your laptop to record music from. YEP

| WHAT?! I just noticed you had coffee with CREAMER. I may have to give you negative rep points for that .
Oh, and happy late birthday, since I just found out it was like a week ago.

| Nooo! It was either Daniel or Jason who said it was 4 channels. Those infidels! I'll get them! >:-)

| Well, it has 4 microphone/line level MONO channels and 4 stereo line level channels. ... So it's really 8.
And it's Mackie, not Behringer... I splurged.
In His love,
Nate

I do hear that Behringer makes great stuff though, but for some reason it's just really cheap . And I mean, I've heard they were *quality*. Hmm. I want a mixer.
So how's the day?

| Mackie has much better microphone pre-amps than Behringer does... and the board/circuitry overall is much more "solid" on the Mackie. Also, I think that the Mackie has slightly different routing options (at least on the smaller boards) than Behringer does. Anyways, I'm very pleased with my board.
Anyways, the day is fine... great, in fact.. although it's now over. I need to get some sleep.
In His love,
Nate

| I don't feel like typing much right now. Blah blah.
Anyways, camp was great. Had lots of fun. This was my first time as a counselor, I think... at any camp. That was cool. I didn't really do any counseling... hmm.
This past week has been interesting. Sound system at church is getting all messed up and such. I keep fixing it and it keeps getting changed by the other church that is meeting in our building. We're having a meeting tomorrow night about all of that, I hope it goes well.
Also, I've been doing some shopping for some stuff for school. I got new shoes, new socks, a new belt, two new shirts, and a new bag... I don't think anybody here at CGR likes my bag though, in my thread in CPF they all said it looked like a purse. My masculinity is being threatened.
Umm... ok. I'm tired and I'm not making sense. Good night all.
In His love,
Nate
