Life.
* Grandma's house was torn down -- finally! now only four months until the replacement can be started, due to the delay caused by the construction methods (which will save oodles of money on air conditioning once it's finished).
* Finished the spring semester. I didn't give up, but I didn't do especially great either. If I worked as hard all semester as I do in the last four to five weeks, I would kick all kinds of academic ass.
* I was turned down for the (megachurch missions ministry) internship I was planning to do this summer, which has left me something of a ship without a map. Still got the stars to steer by, though.
* I found out yesterday that my dad stole my identity in September 08 and opened up a credit card account that I am legally responsible for now that he's behind in paying it. I was perturbed.
* I need to figure out better transportation now that gas prices are up (Death Star isn't going to make it very well). Thing with Dad not helping here.
* I played in the Jazz Combo this semester, guitar and bass (think I mentioned that way back when). My instructors say I could excel in music if I applied myself.
* It seems like I'm still caught between fear of failure and fear of not ever accomplishing anything. It's like if I don't reach too high, I won't fall as far, but if I don't reach high, I won't get anything meaningful done anyway.
* Which would seem to point to an obvious conclusion. If one is to fail, better to do it big and follow hard after Christ doing it, right? Better hot or cold than lukewarm?
Peace and grace

| not much of a comeback, that. I'll see if I can't remember to update.
I'm (supposed to be) doing homework right now, and I really don't have time to do otherwise. |

I don't know where you are, and I'm never around either, but I got here by clicking random options on CGR, and realized that that was a shame. That there are beautiful personalities and people with whom I would never have any contact, were it not for this trusty ol' website, and by dash-blast-and-upset-the-fruit-basket, I mean to have contact with them.
What's the most exciting thing to happen to you this week?

| Ah, it's Galen, Mr. H.
The most exciting thing to happen to me this week? Well, I've ran over several curbs in my van and I've been wearing a brace on my wrist to keep carpal tunnel syndrome from destroying my musical possibilities. We had a rehearsal for the electric guitar ensemble I am part of at the college on Wednesday that went really well. This is good, because we have a performance next week. There is video: YouTube - halloween
I am the one with the acoustic guitar.
But the absolute best thing that happened to me this week was the concert I saw Wednesday night. It was a small acoustic show with Waterdeep - just Don and Lori with their acoustic guitars, looping pedals, octavers, blues harps, vocal processors, and harmonicas, and it was the best concert I've seen in a very long time, perhaps ever. Guy named Justin McRoberts opened for them and he was quite good too (I bought three of his cds). I also recorded, with my crapply little voice recorder, both sets and intend to transfer them to the computer via the complicated process of plugging the headphone out on the recorder into the microphone in on my laptop and using the magic of Audacity.
I also saw Relient K on Tuesday, with Barcelona and Copeland. They were all quite good, and the RK show is the reason my neck still hurts and that little place halfway down my back is twinging and tight.

| If you get a chance to see a guy named Tyrone Wells, do it. He's pretty awesome. I would like to see a Relient K concert before they are done having concerts. |
