also has anyone ever playted chess like they did in the original star trek series, the one with the split board?

I never saw the split board in TOS, only in later series. Of course, TOS is the only real series I have not seen all of (TNG and Voyager being the other real series, DS9 and Enterprize not counting, naturally.)

I have not played the either, and was not even aware the latter had rules.

Never heard of that- but I remember my brother playing 4-player chess with three of his friends.
