If you had an Island along with a 150 other ppl, what kind of Government would you set up and why?

tribal. appoint a chief who has the final say in public affairs, with a council of 12 elders to debate issues. also, a monthly meeting with the entire tribe to get everybody on the same page. laissez-faire economy.

Theonomic republic for me. I have yet to really work out the details of what exactly that would entail, though.

I wouldn't set it up; I'm only 17.

And if you think it's a cop out, it's not. I don't know enough about government to pretend I can think up some utopian ideal. However, if you put a gun to my head, I would have to say that I would probably support some sort of republic based on biblical law, but as far as the details, ask me in about 35 years.

i would have an improvised democratic socialist government.. well you know how regular socialst governments suck cuz ppl get too lazy well my government would fix that.. Every once in a while (depending on the population) we kick out the person with the least number of coconuts and other food items collected. We give them a large leaf and throw them into the ocean.. ussually drowning.. Everyone must be married and must try to reproduce as much as possible to make up for the lazy ppl that die.. thiss process will strain out the lazy people and give motivation to work..

IF I can't have my authoritarian deictatorship (say, I was not going to be on the island); then "compulsiary direct democracy" (a-la Athens) might be fun to inflict.

Considering the small size, I think that or a form of monarchy. Anything more complex seems ill-suited.

a democracy. A true democracy too. No electoral college. The only thing the government would do is police. It would only have laws to protect people. No money making laws.

Probably a simple patriarchal republic. Anything larger, and tribal politics get too complicated and the patriarchy has to be modified to some extent - geographical confederacy is one of the better solutions, in my opinion. Of course, any solution must recognize the headship of Jesus Christ and the sovereign authority of His church.

I'd kick the other 150 people off of my stinking island so that I could enjoy all the coconuts and/or pineapples and/or bananas and/or other tropical fruits all by myself.

That sounds more like it.
Although I would allow other people on the island ONLY IF they agree to find me the coconuts/pinapples/bananas and fan me regulary with palm tree leaves.
