| I'm particular to the Napoleonic Wars and the World Wars. But I've had to study wars extending from small, insignificant intertribal American Indian wars and peasant uprisings to major revolutionary wars and world wars. So I'm ok with those.
I am pretty knowledgeable of Spainish history. Hmm.. Actually, the entire history of Spain. From the earliest recorded history to the present day. Mostly stuff centered around Art, Royalty, Church, Government, and Architecture along with a general knowledge of literature and geographic locations.
I've studied Indian American History and know quite a bit about thier customs, histories (I say plural because they can't be all grouped together), legends, and religious beliefs. Even down to their dietary staples and games.
There's the Church History of course. I have studied that quite a bit and know things from the Jewish History that led up to Christ and the Church all the way up to the present day. The first 800 years of the church stand out in my mind especially well. Studied both Eastern and Western Orthodoxy and the path of the heresies.
American History. Took several classes in it and during my last year taking American History, the teacher had me teach several lessons in the class because she believed I knew those specific eras better than she did and she liked taking naps during class.
Also, the history of science. I didn't really mean to learn about this but one of my science teachers was actually a person who's degree was in history. So I learned a lot of history in there.
Aside from that theres just a bunch of stuff from all over Europe and Russia.
I have been taught about China's history. Along with India's history. But I would not consider myself well learned in those two. Though I am ok when refering to thier social structures and religious beliefs along with geographic locations.
I know that sounds like a lot, but I took 9 Social Studies classes during my 4 years of highschool. I'm not planning on going into any history field but it is something I am intrigued by. |

| I love ancient history. I'm looking into either a double major or a minor in ancient history. I also find world history over the medieval times/renaissance very interesting, too. basically anything before the 19th century is interesting to me, but the absolute coolest is the really really old stuff. I think I want to be an anthropologist. |

| I'm a history major! Ehh the period that most interests me changes periodically, although Ancient history is always interesting. I've registered for a class in the Fall that's soley about WWI and WWII, which should be cool. |

| I'll had planned to get into classical studies but I'm not really going that route. I'll be studying a general overview of Europe for the past 500 years, as well as studying Canadian, American, and British history from approximately 1700 to current events.
I'll also be studying art history all throughout time, concentrating most on the Renaissance/Baroque and Modern periods.
In addition to all of this, I'll be also getting into prehistory. All the fake stuff, for realz!!!11 |

| I'm a big fan of Middle Ages- and Renaissance-era history in not only Europe, but in Asia and the Middle East as well. Of course, in Asia and the Middle East, that time period was called something else because of their cultural development, but that's a whole other story.

| Ah yes. I really like Waterloo. One of the closest and most intense battles ever.
Waterloo should have actually been a French victory. Especially when La Haye Sainte fell. Along with several other events, there should really have been no question as to the fact that the French should have won. But, a little luck/divine blessing and a cavalry unit breaking into a square (extremely hard to do since horses don't just run into men, but this denoted the defeat of Napoleon) won the day. Even the Duke of Wellington (General Wellesly) said, "the nearest thing you ever saw in your life." about the battle the day afterwards. Napoleon was foolish in moving foward in the same old style of columns with that landscape and set up. Which Wellington also said.
If you are intrigued by Waterloo then I would recommend two books. Jac Weller's "Wellington at Waterloo" (the final volume of a really great trilogy on the Duke's military career) and Elizabeth Longford's "Wellington, The Years of the Sword". Longford's work is probably the best there is.
Oh, and if you want to see someone stupid in the battle. Look up a guy known as the Prince of Orange. Some say he exposed infantry up to three times to cavalry. For those of you who know a bit about battle strategy, you know that that is a death warrant for someone's career and for the men they're in charge of. |

| I thought the battle was a pretty nasty defeat for Napoleon because one of his allies screwed up. Supposedly he was looking for an allied army to come to his aid on his flank, but, instead, an enemy came up (misread marching orders to his allies or something of that nature).
I don't know, it was a while ago, so I forgot.
