How do you get the songs off the boombox and make them mp3's? Are you looking to upgrade your setup at all?

I didn't get to this before my short CGR break....sorry.

I line out from the headphone jack to the line-in on my computer.

In other news....I'm relearning some of the songs I wanted to put out as OMG. I've decided that it's gonna be all acoustic with just me on piano, guitar and vocals. I don't think that I'll ever be able to find a rhythm section willing to reform the other OMG sound.

I've also decided that if I write it, it is Oldmangrady, no matter what it sounds like. Any style or topic is possible.

But....I do want to ask if you all have any suggestions for possible cover tunes. Keep in mind that my guitar skills are limited, so don't go suggesting HARD songs. Remember that I come from that whole 70s and 80s power-pop and arena rock era as well.

I'm going to be recording up at a friend's mini-studio just after Christmas. I'll definitely be doing You Want Me, Suzy, Consume Me and possibly a couple of cover tunes. I don't know if I'll call it oldmangrady or not. I've been thinking that I like the name Bradbury a lot. We'll see.

I like the name Bradbury. But I also like the name Oldmangrady. And I have Oldmangrady stickers on my guitar case and water bottle...

Cryin' with the lights down low
Listenin' to the stereo
Daddy hit Mom again
She just wants the pain to end
Sissy up and ran away
Looking for a better day
I just wanna get some sleep
Pray the Lord my soul to keep

Everybody gets the feeling
That they're all alone
There's no one home
There's no one there
To find a better way
Everybody needs some healing
Needs someone to love
Someone to care
Someone to hold
To get them through the day

Sittin' in the garbage bin
Swimmin' in the booze again
Got no place to go
Baby left him long ago
He's the one used to say,
"Jesus is the way"
Gave it up for alchohol
Had to go and blow it all

Everybody gets the feeling
That they're all alone
There's no one hime
There's no one there
To find a better way
Everybody needs some healing
Needs someone to love
Someone to care
Someone to hold
To get them through the day

Fightin' with the voice inside
Tryin' not to hear the lies
None of this in her plans
Boyfriend up and ran
Now she's got to face the stares
Accusations everywhere
Both sides say she'll lose
Why is it so hard to choose

Everybody gets the feeling
That they're all alone
There's no one home
There's no one there
To find a better way
Everybody needs some healing
Needs someone to love
Someone to care
Someone to hold
To get them through the day

Everybody needs the Truth
Everbody's needing You
Everybody needs the One
Everybody needs the Son
Everybody needs to pray
Everybody needs the Way
Everybody needs the Light
Only You can give them sight

Is "Sissy" used as a name or the slang?

I missed this.

Sissy...as in short/slang for sister. Originally I had her named Cathy but I didn't know if people would catch on that it was his sister who ran off.

We figured from the context it was a name, so we enunciated it that way. We are AMAZING.

It works either way.

You rocked it by the way.
