I get everything from our store at cost and everytihng from the other store in town at 10% over cost because we have a good relationship with them

Edit: cost generally is half of retail.

I have 2 students--1 is ten dollars for a thirty minute lesson, the other 12 for a thirty minute lesson. I also play with the community orchestra every time they need a harp, which generates $150 per concerttime (that includes several rehersals, and one or two concerts). Church I get paid $40 a time, but I donate that straight back most of the time. I usually play there like once a month. I also do random things like weddings, funerals, parties, and such, that pay well ($150-$200 per time, usually), however those are infrequent.

All this will probably come to a bit of a screeching halt next year when I go to college and am up to my eyeballs in science homework.

Are those weekly lessons? Those are very reasonable fees. I wish I lived in Washington... it would be cool to learn harp from you! It's such a pretty *attempts to sound less feminine* AWESOME instrument.

In His love,
Nate

Wow that's awesome. I'd like to get a classical guitar and do some gigs similar to what you do.

I taught guitar for about a year, good job, good pay ( $20/hour ) but I was never the greatest teacher and I just wouldn't want to do it forever.

If you want to make it as a performer then its about knowing the business, connections, originality, and proficiency.

My guitar teacher hired me to help teach.. I have 8 students (should get more) and I teach, make music orders, etc. I make $6 an hour. Not bad for a sophomore.

I'm a musician for hire pretty much. Being a jazz musician really helps. On average I get about $150 per gig and about 3 gigs a month. Never with the same musicians...I also work at a recording studio...I get $50 an hour to lay down tracks.....I also have three students...$25 for half hour lessons $35 for an hour.

on average I bring in about 600-800 in a month on music. But the majority of that goes back into music. Always buying new mallets, sticks, drums, accessories.
