I made a demo of a new song that I wrote. It has fake drums and stuff, but it's still enjoyable. It will, most likely, be a Five Minute Plan song in the near future. Check it out: http://www.christianguitar.org/forum...&postcount=445 |

| We've got a show on August 20th at The Last Wave Club. I'm not sure who we're playing with yet, but isn't 5MP enough to make you come out? It's only like five bucks. Also, we're going to record another new live track shortly, stay tuned! |

| Well I like the guitar on some songs, but the two I listened to, Drive and um, what was it...oh I forget right now but there was too much going on. Not that the song doesn't work, cuz it's good but it's like I wanted a break or something. And I sorta found one but then you sang over it...maybe a couple bars of just the music? Sounds better that way but that's just my opinion. I can't explain it.
The vocals, at least you can hit the notes, but it sounds like you're straining at times and that's no good. It just, well I guess it bothers my ears a wee bit? Yah that's probably why I don't like it.
Also to the other guy's post...yah I thought you were about 15 too. Are you trying to sound younger? No offense or anything, I don't mean any.
Have you heard of Simpleplan? What am I saying of course you have....well, you sound like their singer who...and now I don't know how old he is....but well he sounds like a 15 year old as well. Maybe 12 year old actually, I'm not totally sure but this kid from my church is that age and sounds juuuust like him.
The recordings have some quirks to them for my taste. The drums & guitar, at least in Drive, sound a bit too weak. Maybe it's the equipment? Or maybe it's the recording process?
So where's the positive? You can sing on key, which I like in a vocalist. The guitar is awesome, great skills. The recordings are solid and you all keep good time. ^^ |

We're all about alot of stuff happening at once, that's our style and that's what we love. We're trying to break the mold of your typical three chord pop punk band and bring in some classic rock influences and so forth. Quote: |

All of us actually hate Simple Plan. We're the same genre of music as them; but they're totally watered down, teenage-faux-angst-ridden radio rock. They mostly just whine about girls and high school, but our songs usually deal with more mature issues. We have guitar solos and melodic riffs all over the place, whereas Simple Plan is mostly all power chord based. I don't know about trying to sound young, we just sound the way we sound. We don't really try to sound younger or older. We're still only in our early twenties, so we're still pretty young and my voice might sound young; but I think that anyone who listens to all the fret-tapping solos and mature subject matter will realize that we've had some experience. I know that my voice isn't awesome or anything, I'm still working on becoming a better singer. Quote: |

Or maybe it's the recording process? | As far as this goes, Drive is a live demo. It's not really going to sound like a master quality recording. We made it mostly to give out at shows. We're going to make live demos of all our new songs so we can hand them out at shows. I recorded our other songs myself and most people say they're pretty well recorded. I know they're not perfect and I'm still learning about recording, but for a totally DIY indie CD I think we did the best we could. Quote: |

| Ah nuts I was replying to your last post and I accidently squashed it!
Basically I'll quickly sum up what I said.
I'm a nut, I basically didn't like your band last night, but today I'm digging it. That happens. Like the time when I didn't like Coheed & Cambria because of Claudio Sanchez, but now I wish I could emulate his style...yah see? So there you go.
As for songs, I like the many different parts, it was just a couple songs that I didn't like is all. The new songs are really working for me though I have to say. I think I started listening to the older stuff first.
Yah also I had no clue that Drive was live, I'm just blind like that.
Simpleplan...I think your old songs are where you sounded more like their vocalist. And I apologize for the way I made it seem like it was a bad thing, cuz it's not & wow stupid of me to say it makes someone sound like a child. That was lame. Moving on. My voice isn't even half as good as yours, you're really very good.
Ok that's all I have to say right now I guess, maybe if I can get my band chaos straightened out someday we could play together...same style of music really. ^^ |

Well that's awesome; I'm glad you like it! Playing shows together sounds good too, I'm always looking for more contacts so we can get out there and play for more people. Let me know if you're planning on coming to Florida anytime soon. I can get you a few shows. |

| John, are your songs on SoundClick in the correct track order? I want to download them and put them in Winamp playlists, and I'd like them to be in order. |

Go to our website to the Discography section, they're in order on there. |
