Forgotten Thankfulness & Praise

"Forgotten Thankfulness & Praise"
By: Zach Wood
Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

I don't know about you, but my life is pretty busy. Everyday, there are people to see, work to be done, places to go, tasks to be accomplished, etc. The list could go on and on. Many times, I find myself on the go so much and with so much on my mind that I forget to praise and thank God for what He has given me and blessed me with. He has brought so much joy into my life, and yet I am unable many times to just stop and take time to thank Him for the abundant blessings He's given to my life.

I'm encouraged, but also convicted, as I read this passage, that I need to do better at giving Him thanks all throughout my days. The thankful and praise prayers don't have to be long and drawn out. They can just be a simple few words. But, there are times when we need to take more time to be alone with God and just thank Him for all that He's done for us. No matter what is going on in our lives or what situations are pulling us down, we can still find numerous things to thank God for. He is constantly working in our lives and giving to us, so why should we hesitate to lift up praise and thanksgiving to Him each day for all that He's done?

It's my prayer for all of us that we would remember each day to find ways to give God thanks and praise Him for what He's done and for all that He's going to continue to do. When we do things for other people, we like to hear thankful words come from their lips. It's encouraging when we know they appreciate our thoughtfulness. God desires to receive our thankfulness. He's done more than we could ever imagine, so why don't we offer prayers of thanksgiving and praise to Him each day. He deserves our praise and thankfulness.
